The city is

An egoic construct, buildings

Long and hard

Erected on formerly soft

Foundations lost to burgeoning

Time, belonging to no one

The irony(;) you see

Incorrectly identified

Bodies of all kinds

Not dissimilar to those else-

Where in any way

But through expressions of love

Impromp2 works on Shy City House are totally raw, published as they come out, with only minimal editing. The idea is to discover what kinds of thoughts and emotions come to the surface when the “I” takes a back seat to what’s happening. Some lines leave something to be desired; but others capture an essence that can only be lost through analysis.
