Everything Is Where We Are

sometimes it’s enough to see the moon
as it goes away with the light of dawn

or watch a bird silently alight
on the branch of a tree
or feel the wind gently move
across your face

or hear a rippling stream whisper
its always song as if to your ear alone

all these things to help us
relinquish the accumulated detritus
stored in our minds
like somebody else’s clutter
of yesterdays and tomorrows

to help us remember that
we have again another day
to feel and breathe
our own being
inseparable from the world

to know what it is
to be alive right now
